Koi Swimming Under the Mango Tree

The Koi fish symbolizes courage, perseverance, bravery and love. It can be found in many of the lovely Japanese gardens found throughout the Hawaiian Islands. Koi is supposed to bring good luck to the family and set an example of courage for future generation. In this painting, the koi fishes are swimming under the shade of the mango tree. I painted this scene because the mango tree is a common tree found in many yards and gardens in Hawaii.
